Actual salary: £325.11 - £424.83 FTE/Hours & Weeks: 1 hour per week
(Fridays 12-1pm or Friday or Tuesday or Thursday 9-10am) Contract Type: Fixed Term till 22nd May 2025 About the Role HSDC is seeking a Lecturer/Teacher of Spanish for International Students to ensure outstanding success and progression through the delivery of inspirational teaching, learning and assessment.

This opportunity will suit someone with a passion for both the subject and for student success. The postholder must be self-motivated and innovative, with the ability to inspire our students. Responsibilities You will be responsible for:

• To plan effectively and deliver high quality teaching, learning, assessment and support, leading to excellent attendance, retention and achievement.
• Offer tailored Spanish support classes focused on academic writing, speaking, and listening skills. Use creative activities and strategies to make learning engaging and relevant.
• Dynamic and active lessons considering different levels of Spanish. Establish workshops where students can receive feedback
• Create informal gatherings where students can practice speaking in a relaxed environment.
• Establish a dynamic writing workshop where students can get feedback on their papers. Conduct sessions on citations, and structuring essays. Provide examples of strong vs. weak essays/homework statements.
• Offer study guides, videos, and audio resources tailored for language learners. Conduct periodic assessments to track language progress and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements You will need:

• Degree in relevant subject.
• Certificate in Education/PGCE or equivalent.
• Certificate of teaching Spanish as a second language/ NA for Spanish native speaker
• High level of specialist knowledge of the subject area
• Proven track record of personal recent teaching success shown by high student achievement in the subject area
• At least 2 years' experience in teaching the subject area to full-time or part-time students.
