English to Spanish Translator

Job Description
London College of Communication (UAL) in collaboration with London College of Fashion (LCF) is seeking an English to Spanish Translator to provide short-term project support for the delivery of a UAL designed programme funded by The British Council, Argentina.
We will be hosting a week-long residency in London for Argentinian Creative Entrepreneurs.
Working alongside the academic team, technicians and delivery partners, the role will provide support for online meetings and in-person workshops and document translation, supporting and communicating the introduction of concepts, processes and guidance.
This is a flexible support role, suited to someone with experience of providing translation in an academic- business environment with Spanish speaking participants with varying proficiency in English.
The successful candidate will need to be available in person the week of 26th October 2026 to 30th October 2026 between the hours of 9am to 5pm, in London. There are ad-hoc/flexible hours, by agreement, leading up to the residency for online meetings and document translation.

Key responsibilities
The Translator will support the team by:
- Providing translation on-line for meetings between LCC, LCF and Argentinian participants
- Providing in-person translation at a series of events and workshops happening in London in week of 26th to 30th October 2026 with potential for extra hours some evening for support at social/networking events
- Provide ad-hoc support in translation of documents
Personal Specification
We're looking for someone who has:
- Experience of live/immediate translation of English to Spanish
- Proficient Spanish speaker, preferably in Argentinian Spanish (but standard European Spanish also acceptable)
- Experience of translating documents written in UK English into Spanish
- Available (with notice) for online meetings with Argentinian participants
- Available in person the week of 26th - 30th October in London between the hours of 9am to 5pm
- Potentially available for some evenings 26th - 30th October in London
Essential
- Experience supporting translation in an academic environment and/or business environment
- Strong organisational and timekeeping skills
- Confident in networking
- Experience of written and oral translation of English to Spanish
Desirable
- Experience working with Higher Education, cultural organisations, public sector or business sector
- Argentinian Spanish
