About this Role

DidcotGirls' School is seeking an enthusiastic, supportive and engaging SpanishForeign Language Assistant. The post will start from September 2026 if possibleand involves 9.5 hours a week in term time only, which could be timetabled over2 days. The rate is £21.73.

The SpanishLanguage Assistant plays a key role within the Modern Foreign LanguagesDepartment in supporting students to successfully develop their confidence and ability to communicateorally in Spanish, as well as to prepare for the GCSE and A-Level speakingexaminations. They work in close collaborationwith teachers, in or outside the classroom, and with students in small breakoutgroups, or one to one.

Thesuccessful candidate will be a Spanish native speaker and have a passion forlearning and working with young people, helping them to improve their languageskills as well as their cultural knowledge. They will be an outstandingrole-model promoting language learning and nurturing outstanding workingrelationships with students aged 15 to 18.

Results at A level in the mixedsixth form shared with our partner school, St Birinus School, are alsoextremely strong with 37% of grades awarded as A* or A and 65% achieving GradesA*-B. These results place us as one of the highest performing schools in thecounty.
