Are you an ambitious and inspirational Spanish specialist ready to lead a thriving department? E-ACT Bristol Academy South is seeking an outstanding Head of Spanish to drive excellence in teaching and learning, raise student achievement, and inspire a passion for languages across the academy.

As Head of Spanish, you will provide strategic and day-to-day leadership of the department, developing an engaging curriculum, supporting and coaching colleagues, monitoring student progress, and ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning. You will play a key role in shaping the academy's educational outcomes while fostering a culture of high expectations, collaboration and continuous improvement

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Spanish curriculum across the academy, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and assessment.
• Develop and implement an ambitious and engaging curriculum that inspires a love of languages and supports excellent student progress.
• Monitor and evaluate student achievement, using data effectively to drive improvement and close attainment gaps.
• Ensure consistently high-quality teaching across the department through coaching, mentoring and professional development.
• Line manage and support members of the Spanish department, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

Pay range: MPS1 - UPS3 - £34,069.00 - £52,835.00 + TLR 2A - £3,651.00

Qualifications and Skills:

• Qualified Teacher Status (or recognised equivalent)
• Degree in subject specialism
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate, develop and inspire colleagues.
• Excellent classroom teaching skills with a track record of securing strong student outcomes.
• Ability to analyse and interpret performance data to inform curriculum planning and drive improvement.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and external stakeholders.
