Are you a dedicated and highly effective educator committed to raising the achievement of all students within your subject area? Join us as a Teacher, where you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality learning, utilising a range of teaching and learning strategies to ensure student success.

Welcome from the Principal:
We are a free scheel in the centre of Middlesbrough, and we do things differently! Do you?
As Principal, I am proud to introduce you to Outwood Academy Riverside, an innovative free school within a nationally renowned Trust that nurtures talent and provides high-quality professional development.
Opened in 2020, Riverside is a special place to work with genuine care for every family member. Our community is built on core values, including kindness, compassion, respect and integrity. We maintain academic rigour and high expectations, resulting in very good behavior and attendance that is above the national average. Students face no 'glass ceiling' and benefit from exceptional personal development opportunities (including Cadets, MISST, and LAMDA).
This is a unique opportunity to join an inspirational team making history. We are currently on Russell Street (with a satellite site in Eston) and are planning a move to a new, state-of-the-art facility by 2027.
About the Department:
The MFL Department at Outwood Academy Riverside offers Spanish from year 7 to GCSE, with it being a popular subject in KS4. We are a vibrant, welcoming and collaborative department currently made up of a dedicated team of two. Language, learning and diversity are at the heart of the school community with 52 different languages spoken across our academy. Our large EAL student population makes our school a uniquely rich cultural environment. We take pride in celebrating our students heritage, supporting a significant number of pupils each year to sit GCSE's in their home languages alongside our core language curriculum.
In MFL there is a dedicated team of Directors who invest in staff with support, coaching, mentoring, and a wide range of top-quality of subject specific training programmes to ensure the quality teaching and learning leads to outstanding outcomes for all students. Our MFL teams across the Trust achieve excellent results for students every year.
