Short Intro and About the Job

GLOBAL ENGINEERING Design team is a department of Danone which missions are to:

• Bring Project methodology & technical support to Capex investment and due diligence on a worldwide scale, in DAIRY and WATERS categories.
• Work on technological innovation projects together with R&D and suppliers
• Knowledge & expertise management: co-develop and co-deploy WWBU Standards together with CBUs/regions/Suppliers, with a continuous improvement roadmap,
• Work on the productivity program for Danone and bring expertise and support to roll out the action plans
• Bring expertise for the plant digitalization development to choose the right supplier and software and infrastructure definition

Within the latter, we are looking for a Plastics Engineer to support the industrial strategy. This position will report to Global Engineering Packaging Solutions Design Director and is highly and internationally exposed, with regular's travels all around the world.

Principal Responsibilities

• Design the reliable and highly performing technological standard solutions on injection, blowing and capping processes
• Identify and assess the innovative/breakthrough technological solutions on injection, blowing and capping processes
• Assure their implementation in the Danone factories by managing the engineering and manufacturing networks to achieve the Group Safety, Performance and Nature targets.
• Work with DAIRY category on PLASTIC projects to develop best practices and common tools
• Work with Digital Engineering team on monitoring and define the software and KPI to follow
• Liaise with the R&I / C&P departments to support plastics strategies on SmartWeighing and Rpet
• Support the different CBU on troubleshooting issues.

Being the reference cross division in all injections, blowing and capping processes matters, driving the industrial strategy and vision in this area, you will :

• Support the regional and local organizations contributing to producing the best bottles in terms of quality and cost and Projects preparations ensuring the deployment of standards and innovative technology in the factories (feasibility studies, CAR preparation, engineering reviews, FAT and commissioning)
• Organize regular workshops in the CBU to improve the competences on injection, blowing and capping processes.
• Organize and animate fundamental training for operational people.
• Collect know-how and experience from users, experts, suppliers and other Danone WWBU's to improve standard solutions
• Complete with suppliers the engineering standards on injection, blowing and capping processes
  • to reduce safety risks in Danone factories
  • to achieve excellence in execution and installation's reliability while improving projects timing and costs
  • to increase quality, energy efficiency and manufacturing performance
• Manage the network of engineers in charge of injection, blowing and capping processes, fostering sharing innovative solutions and improvement plans
• Contribute to plastic programs (smart weighing and rPET) though technologies and methods
• Manage main suppliers in these domains together with CP/ Local engineering
• 50% travelling time

About You

Education/training:

• Engineer by education

Languages

• English is mandatory
• French or Spanish speaking ability being a plus, although not mandatory

Professional Skills :

• Theoretical and technological knowledge in bottling technologies,
• Expertise in injection, blowing and capping processes for PET bottling industry
• High level of technical analysis capacity regarding quality bottle assessment
• Project Management skills and experiences
• Experienced in supplier's management
• Strong written and verbal skills: network coordination, specifications, acceptance protocols formalization
• Connected to state-of-the-art technologies
• Performance improvement and lean manufacturing mindset
• Open to working in an international context with international exposure
• Demonstrate leadership and strong interpersonal relationships

Personal Assets:

• • 10 to 15 years of experience on injection, blowing and capping processes
  • Autonomous, analytical and able to communicate clearly (good pedagogical skills)
  • Proven ability to easily connect with engineering functions at plants/CBUs
  • Proven ability to make change without imposing views but rather by getting buy in
  • Interest to travel / Personal and familial capacity for moving on 2 weeks period
