Job DescriptionWe are looking for an outstanding language acquisition teacher who can teach French and Spanish up to at least year 9 and either language up to year 13.

KGV is a long-standing Secondary School part of the English Schools Foundation (ESF), the largest provider of English-medium international education in Hong Kong. Our school delivers the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) in years 7 to 9 and the (I)GCSE in years 10 and 11. In years 12 and 13, our students progress to study either the IB diploma, the BTEC applied learning diploma or the IB career-related programme, which also includes a language and cultural studies core element.
The position will be a full-time, two-year finite contract from August 2025 to August 2027, with the possibility of renewal.
Requirements - Bachelor's Degree in French and/or Spanish, plus a recognised Postgraduate teaching qualification.
- Teaching experience of MYP within a recognised secondary educational organisation would be an advantage.
- Teaching competence and capacity to teach:
- Language Acquisition in Spanish and French in MYP in years 7 to 9
- French or Spanish at IGCSE, Language B SL/HL at IB diploma level
- Experience using data on student learning to shape curriculum, teaching and assessment provision through collaborative enquiry.
- Ability and willingness to contribute to collaboration in the Language Department and the wider school faculty, which is focused on improving student learning, outcomes, and literacy across the school.
- Effective interpersonal skills and drive to form positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
- Willingness to contribute to the school's extra-curricular programme, including our year 11 language immersion trips.
