About this Role
MaidenErlegh School in Reading is seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiasticSpanish Teacher to join our school community.
This is anexcellent opportunity for a skilled classroom practitioner who can plan,resource and deliver highly effective and inspiring Spanish lessons across theallocated timetable. The successful candidate will contribute to engaging andchallenging curriculum planning, support strong standards of behaviour andprofessionalism, and help create a safe, purposeful and ambitious learningenvironment in which students make strong progress and achieve high academicstandards.
Thepostholder will be responsible for teaching allocated classes, supportingeffective tutor provision, directing and supervising support colleaguesassigned to lessons, and contributing to the wider work of the department,school and Maiden Erlegh Trust.

KeyResponsibilities
- Plan and prepare highly effective Spanish lessons in line with Trust and school schemes of work and assessment.
- Use a range of teaching strategies to promote learning, engagement and enjoyment of the subject.
- Motivate and inspire students so that they enjoy their learning, manage their own learning effectively and aim high in their academic achievement.
- Use assessment information, student starting points and regular feedback to monitor progress, close gaps and support appropriate intervention.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour, attendance, conduct, safety and wellbeing in lessons and wider school settings.
- Act as a form tutor and contribute to effective tutor and personal development provision.
- Support all students, including disadvantaged students, those with SEND and the most able, to access learning and achieve strong outcomes.
- Contribute to curriculum enrichment, extra-curricular activities, whole-school events, professional development and the wider life of the school.
TheIdeal Candidate
Thesuccessful candidate will have:
- A good quality degree.
- PGCE, or equivalent, in secondary education.
- Qualified Teacher Status.
- Genuine enthusiasm for Spanish and the ability to communicate this to students.
- The ability to use a range of teaching strategies that promote learning, engagement and enjoyment of the subject.
- Strong classroom practice and the ability to deliver a variety of teaching approaches.
- A commitment to overcoming barriers to learning so that students are supported to achieve their potential.
- The ability to communicate clearly and appropriately with students, colleagues and parents.
- The ability to manage behaviour effectively and create a purposeful learning environment.
- Good IT skills and the ability to use ICT effectively to support learning.
- A willingness to become fully involved in the life of the school and share the values of the school and the wider Trust.
