Statutory Accountant (Spanish speaking)

Role Summary:

The Statutory Accountant will sit in the Finance Shared Services organisation of a large multinational group that reports consolidated/internal financials under US GAAP. The role is responsible for the end-to-end preparation, review and filing of local statutory financial statements under European local GAAPs for multiple legal entities, ensuring alignment and reconciliation to US GAAP group reporting. The role is a key liaison between group consolidation, tax, legal, local advisors and external auditors.

Your role:

• Actively participating in assigned accounting and month end closing processes under US-GAAP
• Performing Accounting activities with the team
• Reporting: you provide daily and monthly reports and assist to your colleagues from the General Accounting team
• Perform month-end closings, general ledger account analysis and Balance Sheet account reconciliations, prepare SOX controls
• Continuous contact with vendors, customers regarding fixed asset issues
• Assist with the resolution of any issues that could impact the timely month-end closing

Your profile

• BS or BA degree in finance, accounting or a similar field
• Fully qualified accountant (CPA / ACA / ACCA / or equivalent)
• Fluent spoken and written English and Spanish
• Strong statutory accounting and reporting experience in a multinational company
• Hands-on with US GAAP and at least one major European local GAAP (e.g. UK, DE, FR, NL)
• Advanced Excel and experience with ERP / consolidation tools (SAP, Oracle, HFM, OneStream, Blackline etc.)
• Proven experience managing external audit and statutory filings
• An analytically strong, structured, and detail-oriented professional capable of functioning in a global environment and maintaining composure under pressure
