The MFL department offers a broad and ambitious curriculum wherewe offer an enriching experience in French and Spanish at KS3, paving the wayfor an exciting journey into KS4.
The decision to offer French and Spanish at KS4 is aboutcultivating a community of dedicated learners who breathe life into ourlanguage program. Opting for languages at KS4 results in smaller, closely-knitcohorts, providing an opportunity for personalised support from teachers andnurturing a genuine passion for language excellence.
The most recent GCSE results saw students making good progress(SPI of 0.28 in Spanish and 0.37 in French) and attainment is in line withNational trends for non-selective schools in similar areas.
The successful applicant will be an individual who embodies agenuine passion for learning, possesses robust interpersonal skills, demonstrates resilience, excels as a teacher, and boasts exceptional subjectknowledge, including a track record of delivering Spanish GCSE. While not mandatory, an added advantage wouldbe an interest and proficiency in teaching French at KS3 and KS2 level.
Our commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children will be reflected throughout the recruitment process and the successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and an online screening check.
Prospective candidates are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible as the school reserves the right to close the advert should we feel able to appoint an appropriate candidate.
