SECTION 1 - ESSENTIAL CRITERIA The following are
essential criteria which will initially be measured at the shortlisting stage and which
may also be further explored during the interview/selection stage. You should therefore make it clear on your application form how, and to what extent you meet these criteria. Failure to do so may result in you not being shortlisted.

Hold an honours degree (minimum 2:2) in Spanish and French or a cognate subject which had a high academic content in the curricular areas taught in Spanish and French A level; and
Hold a grade C (or higher) in Spanish A level (or equivalent); and
Hold a grade C (or higher) in French A level (or equivalent).

SECTION 3 - DESIRABLE CRITERIA Some or all of the desirable criteria may be applied by the Selection Panel in order to determine a manageable pool of candidates. You should make it clear on your application form how, and to what extent you meet the desirable criteria, as failure to do so may result in you not being shortlisted.
Factor Desirable Criteria Method of Assessment Qualifications and Experience Preference may be given to those applicants who at the timer of the appointment: Hold an Honours degree (2:1 or above) which has a high academic content in the curricular areas most taught in Spanish and French GCSE and A level; and/or
Hold a grade (A*-B) in Spanish A level (or equivalent); and/or
Hold a grade (A*-B) in French A level (or equivalent); and/or
Have qualifications, training and/or experience to offer an additional subject, which at the time of appointment, best meets the curricular needs of the School; and/or
Have qualifications or experience to assist with the Games programme within the School; and/or
Have qualifications, training and/or experience to assist with Banbridge Academy's weekend extra-curricular Team Games or Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme expeditions or School Drama productions; and/or
Have experience of teaching A level Spanish; and/or
Have experience of teaching A level French; and/or
Have experience of teaching another subject to A or GCSE level.
