About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic science teacher to join our dynamic department within a thriving West London school. This is an exciting opportunity to ignite a passion for science in students, foster critical thinking skills, and equip them with the knowledge they need for future success.
  • Curriculum Delivery:
    • Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging and stimulating science lessons across the curriculum, catering to Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and potentially Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11) in line with the National Curriculum.
    • Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students can develop their scientific understanding and practical skills effectively.
  • Curriculum Development:
    • Contribute to the ongoing development of the science curriculum, ensuring it aligns with the school's vision, national requirements, and the latest advancements in science education.
    • Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in science pedagogy, implementing innovative approaches to enhance student learning (e.g., hands-on experiments, problem-based learning).
  • Building Relationships:
    • Build strong and positive relationships with students, fostering their curiosity and love for science.
    • Provide constructive feedback and support to enable students to reach their full potential (individualized learning plans, targeted intervention strategies).
    • Cultivate a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages participation, critical thinking, and a desire to explore the natural world.
  • Extracurricular Activities:
    • Contribute to and potentially lead extracurricular activities related to science (e.g., science clubs, competitions, STEM initiatives).
  • School Community:
    • Actively participate in departmental and whole-school events, fostering a collaborative spirit and contributing to the wider school community.
