About the role:

DHL is hiring a Senior Accountant to join its Heredia, Costa Rica team. In this role, you will ensure timely and accurate reporting of the monthly financial statements of DHL entities in accordance with Accounting principles and corporate policies. Additional tasks and accountabilities include but are not limited to:

Main Responsibilities

Balance Sheet reconciliations (preparation for owned entities and approval for other entities), in line with the DHL Express guidelines and IFRS.
General Knowledge of Balance Sheet and RTR Activities (Fixed Assets, Cash & Banks, Equity, Other current and non current assets, Provisions, AR AP Modules, Payroll accounts).
Prepare, review and post manual journal entries in line with IFRS, CREST and DHL group policy and guidelines.
Preparation and distribution of required financial and accounting reports (including management information).
Reconciliation of Customs and External Billing account, meeting the aging target.
Ensure that group and area month end closing deadlines are consistently met.
Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations for specific account ranges, entities or a set of entities in line with the DHL Guidelines, and follow up on open items until resolution. Ensure that all relevant backups are stored in the appropriate location.
Support the Financial Accounting activities according to SOPs by delivering according to Service Level Agreements by daily follow up on operational and contractual targets.
Perform, monitor and advice on risk assessment according to global Balance Sheet Guidelines and the GOM Global Operating Model.
Coordination within RTR and finance processes to ensure compliance in the close calendar.
Ensure Global RTR KPIs are consistently met for the region.
Preparation and presentation of monthly Service Performance Reviews with Local CFO and Finance Controlling team.
Support RTR organization towards the CoE goal.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Degree / Advanced Diploma in Accounting.
• Previous experience in similar roles (3 - 4 years).
• English Proficiency Advance
• Portuguese Proficiency Intermediate
• Advanced Excel.
• Knowledge in SAP HANA and G3P.
• Experience with CREST system is an asset.
• Knowledge in DHL Express finance, RTR processes, global KPIs, RTR tools, ROM MEC.
• Continuous improvement culture.
• Great communication skills.
• Knowledge in Customs Balance Sheet reconciliation and External Billing
• Experience in revenue reconciliation
• Experience in different month end closing activities such as Revaluation, Bad debts, Network Fee.
