Job Description: Accountant - Global Operations (Spanish-speaking)
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented **Accountant** to join our dynamic tech company. This position will be responsible for overseeing payroll, invoicing, and full-cycle accounting across multiple entities in different countries (Mexico, US, and Puerto Rico). The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing QuickBooks, ensuring compliance with international accounting standards, and preparing financial reports to support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting Operations:
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities for multiple entities, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
- Handle multi-currency transactions and ensure proper accounting for foreign exchange differences.
- Maintain compliance with local accounting standards and tax regulations for each entity.
2. Payroll Management:
- Oversee payroll processing for employees in various countries, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Ensure compliance with international payroll laws and regulations, including deductions, benefits, and reporting requirements.
3. Invoicing and Accounts Receivable:
- Prepare and issue invoices to clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on overdue payments, and resolve client billing inquiries.
4. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare financial statements and management reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Analyze financial performance and provide insights to management to inform strategic decisions.
5. QuickBooks Management:
- Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks across all entities, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
- Develop and implement best practices for QuickBooks usage to streamline accounting workflows.
6. Compliance and Audit:
- Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
- Assist with tax filings, audits, and other regulatory requirements.
7. Process Optimization:
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and workflows, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures for accounting activities.
Qualifications
1. Education & Certification:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification is a plus.
2. Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a tech multinational or accounting environment.
- Proven experience managing accounting for multiple entities and currencies.
3. Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in QuickBooks (mandatory) and advanced Excel skills.
- Familiarity with accounting standards like GAAP or IFRS and payroll software/tools.
