A high-achieving international school in West London seeks a passionate and qualified Spanish Teacher to join its dynamic Languages department for a full-time temporary position starting in September 2024. About the Role:

This exciting opportunity allows a dedicated Spanish educator to inspire the next generation of language learners in a dynamic and engaging setting. You will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging Spanish lessons that incorporate project-based learning across the curriculum, catering to a diverse mix of students and grade levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Curriculum Design and Delivery:
    • Design and deliver engaging and interactive Spanish lessons that utilize project-based learning methodologies.
    • Develop curriculum materials that encourage students to apply their Spanish language skills in collaborative projects focused on real-world scenarios and cultural exploration.
    • Foster a student-centered learning environment that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills in Spanish.
    • Integrate technology and multimedia resources to enhance project-based learning activities.
    • Prepare students for any relevant external examinations (if applicable) in accordance with the school's curriculum framework.
  • Assessment and Differentiation:
    • Implement effective assessment strategies to evaluate student progress in project-based learning activities and their overall language development.
    • Utilize differentiated instruction to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students achieve their full potential.
    • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to support students in their project work and language acquisition.
  • Collaboration and Professional Development:
    • Collaborate effectively with colleagues in the Languages department to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive Spanish language curriculum.
    • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in project-based language learning.
    • Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of the Spanish program within the school, fostering a dynamic and student-centered learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate:
  • A qualified Spanish Teacher with a minimum of two years' successful teaching experience in a secondary school setting.
  • A demonstrable passion for the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures, with a strong commitment to project-based learning methodologies.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a deep understanding of current trends in Spanish language teaching and assessment.
  • Strong pedagogical skills and the ability to design and deliver engaging, interactive, and project-based lessons.
  • A commitment to high standards and creating a positive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English is essential.
